The new menu, Processing > Subtract an Image, allows users to subtract another image (for example, a background image) from the open image. The operation performs point-wise subtraction between the two images.
Processing > Arithmetic Op > Browse now remembers recently used file paths and includes buttons for selecting these paths. There are buttons for selecting both the Recent Location (last used during import) and the Image Location (the workspace images folder).
The new Subtract an Image and Apply Arithmetic Operation with an Image commands can now be added to a Method.
The new Subtract Spectrum from Image command can now be added to a Method.
Unsupported method commands (such as those introduced in future versions of the software) are now identified as such and handled gracefully without causing errors. This will improve backwards compatibility of future versions of the software. This affects both editing and running methods with unsupported commands.
The file browsers used to specify files used by various method commands (such as an image file used by the Subtract an Image command) now default to an appropriate workspace folder, if available. This change affects files specified both during method editing (Method > Manage & Run Methods > Edit) and method running (Method > Manage & Run Methods > Run or the Automated Actions tab of the Import Options dialog).
Automated Actions > Use Method > Browse from the Import Options dialog now remembers recently used file paths and includes buttons for selecting these paths. There are buttons for selecting both the Recent Location (last used during import) and the Method Location (the workspace method folder).
A new data type for image export, MS for Library Search, has been added for File > Export Image menus including:
Clicking the OK and View Spectrum button from the Blob Properties dialog now behaves the same as clicking on the blob using the Context MS cursor mode. This new behavior includes listing both the peak and blob MS spectra and selecting the active spectra based on the library search settings.
If an image was imported with Column II cropping, Method > New method from Current Image would add a Shift Phase command, even though no phase shift had been applied.
Workaround: Manually delete the Shift Phase step.
From the Project app, Method > New Method > check Set Configuration > Save would cause an uncaught exception.
Workaround: Use the Image app to create the method if you want to use the Set Configuration option.
Several of the browse buttons on the Automated Actions tab of the Import or Process Runs dialogs (from either Image app > File > Import or Project app > Runs > Process Runs) would initialize the file browser with an invalid path if the text field contained a relative file path. The affected items were Use Configuration, Match Template, and both of the Set RI Table items.
Workaround: Manually browse to the correct path.
File > Export > Export Image as Text MS with blobs or peaks followed by reimporting this data through File > Import would lose m/z precision. The imported image would have integer m/z spectra even if the original had high resolution spectra.
Opening JEOL MassCenter Centroided MS Data Format files (.7if) would fail with an exception.
Affected Versions: The bug is caused by some libraries missing from the version 2020r1.2 installer.
On the File > Import dialog, if invalid values were entered in the Variable Modulation table in the Advanced tab, but then the Variable Modulation option was turned off, a variable modulation error dialog was incorrectly shown when clicking OK.
When importing an image using interpolation, the cancel button on the progress dialog had no effect during the interpolation step.
File > Export profile Data to Centroid... would fail with an exception if the image had an invalid profile path.
Workaround: Correct the profile path from View > Image Attributes.
If baseline correction had not been performed or skipped, updating pulse calibration (Configure > Mass Calibration > Current Calibration Model > Pulse Calibration) would fail with an exception.
Workaround: Skip baseline correction, then undo and redo baseline correction after export.
Attempting to activate a USB license key with an expired subscription activation code would report a successful activation although the USB license key would not function with the software.
License validation with USB license keys would fail from 12AM-1AM during Daylight Savings Time.
Affected Versions: The bug affects all 2020r1 releases.
Processing > Extract Ion Peaks as Areas would sometimes fail with an exception on images with a phase shift applied.
Workaround: Processing > Shift Phase > Reset before extracting ion peaks.
Investigator > Tools > Compound Finder would not find spectral matches between high resolution spectra, even with a very low spectral threshold.
Project > Run > Auto Processing did not save the processing log to the reports folder.
Affected Versions: The bug affects 2.7r3.2 and 2.8r2 or later.
Help > Memory Monitor allocated and used memory counts were incorrect for high memory usage and maxed out at 2097151K.
The Software Updates Available dialog would sometimes show an update message with the wrong edition on systems where multiple editions were used.
The default blob display settings (Configure > Settings > Blob Display) have been updated for improved visibility. The following settings were changed:
