The software includes a new 64-bit framework that provides improved performance and system stability for all operations when processing data larger than 2GB.
The software officially supports the Command Line interface. The interface can be used to create workflows that integrate multiple tools or software for automating routine analysis or complicated processing with a large number of data files.
RI tables, along with their associated settings, may now be exported to and imported from Retention Index Method (.gcrm) files.
Configure > Settings now includes a pane for configuring default retention index calibration settings. These settings may be exported and imported in configuration files (.cfg).
Configure > RI Table > Settings... now includes an option for log base 10, in addition to natural log, for log-linear regression.
Importing an RI table from a csv or refreshing a linked RI table will now keep the existing settings.
A clear error message, instead of an empty table, is now displayed if a linked RI table file is empty or invalid.
The software now includes two new CLIC functions: LRI1() and LRI2(). The functions will evaluate the retention index function at any point specified, allowing additional retention properties of a blob to be converted to retention indices.
Processing > Extract Ion Peaks as Areas includes a new Min Qualifier Ion Count filter used to specify the minimum number of apexing ions required.
Processing > Extract Ion Peaks as Areas includes a new CLIC filter used to specify a customized constraint using all properties computed for a targeted ion apex peak.
Methods now support adding an Extract Ion Peaks as Areas step.
The Active and Visible flags in the MS Viewer may be set independently of each other to allow for fast toggling of the displayed spectra.
The Context MS mode displays only the primary spectra initially for a less cluttered display. Additional spectra may then be toggled on manually.
The Context MS mode includes the Reference MS spectra in the MS Viewer.
The spectra view of the Compounds Perspective now supports sending a selected spectrum to the NIST Library for an identification search.
Compound Finder now displays its results in a tab beside the main perspectives instead of a window that blocked access to the main perspectives.
Interactive Blob Detection has a new Apply and Save as Defaults button used for saving the detection settings as the default configuration. This replaces the previous Always set to configuration checkbox and prompt.
In Interactive Blob Detection, SNR and other threshold-based suggested properties now default to having only the Min threshold enabled instead of both the Min and Max.
The software now supports font sizes smaller than 8 (i.e., 4-7) for text annotation and other features with configurable text.
Running CommandLine.bat from a fresh install without any license activated would throw an exception and exit abnormally.
Workaround: Activate a license before launching CommandLine.bat
Running a method with library search from command line (e.g., using Project > Run > Process Runs) would auto-detect a NIST library installation rather than use the one specified by the current configuration.
Some methods would throw an exception when run with an open Blob Table.
Workaround: Close the Blob Table prior to running the method.
Area objects added to an image with a phase shift applied would have incorrectly calculated noise values.
Workaround: Save and re-open the image to recompute the values correctly.
Bicubic interpolation results were off by one pixel in rare cases where the transform results in a point with many decimal places that is rounded up due to floating-point precision (e.g. 1.99999999)
Running a method with an Apply RI Table step and the Update Retention Times option enabled would not apply the retention time update until after the image was reloaded.
Workaround: Save and re-open the image to recompute the values correctly.
Unused retention index settings (e.g., intercept value when Set intercept is unchecked) had inconsistent persistence behavior. Now all remember the last used value.
If a retention index table was linked to a file and the file was modified such that it was empty or otherwise invalid, refreshing the linked table would cause both the table and settings to be lost.
The Refresh the table from the linked file button would always cause the settings to be reset.
The Populate button was incorrectly enabled when using a linked table, which should not support editing.
The Settings... button was incorrectly enabled for an empty RI table.
The installer and Help > About dialog now include the updated GC Image End User License Agreement (EULA) and third-party copyright notices.
The HRMS and non-HRMS editions now share the same installer. The HRMS edition features are enabled by activating an HRMS edition license. The Help > About dialog displays which edition is currently activated.
