Interactive Blob Detection
An interactive blob detection was applied to a fuel chromatogram. Values for the 'Smoothing', 'Integration', and 'Filter' options were varied to detect all the blobs in the chromatogram. The attached image of the Blob Detection window shows that the percentage of blob volume versus total image volume (highlighted in red) is more than 100 percent. Realistically, the percentage value should not exceed 100, irrespective of any value provided for the three options mentioned initially. Kindly explain.

Re: Interactive Blob Detection
The percentage reported are based on Image Volume (i.e. total chromatogram response) since blob detection is still in progress, and there is no "true" total peak response.
After baseline correction, the background is supposed to be around 0, so, contains some negative values. However, if there are significant or complex background artifacts, depending on the Baseline Correction settings, the background may contain more negative values, which could cause Image Volume is lower than Total Blob Volume.

What is the exact difference between a configuration file and an operations journal for a GC Image? Is there a way to save everything exclusively so that reopening the image in the future would leave everything in the same way when it was closed last?

Re: Interactive Blob Detection
A configuration file contains settings for Configure > Settings. It can be used for restoring settings and for auto processing.
The journal contains a history of process steps performed on an image file. It can be used as an audit trail for troubleshooting or reproducing the results.

If you refer to the processing settings, you may export a configuration file or save a method, and import the configuration or run the method manually. Is there a way to save everything exclusively so that reopening the image in the future would leave everything in the same way when it was closed last?
