When I try to install new updates (e.g. 2.8), I get the message that the installation failed due to a corrupted "install.log" file.
What should I do?

An update (MP) installer updates an existing installation with the same major version, for example, GCxGC2.8-MPr2.exe for v2.8. It is not a full installer. If you already uninstalled the version you want to update or the major version is older than the update, you will have to use the full installer to reinstall the entire software.

If you didn't uninstall the previous version, make sure that the update installer detects the correct location by clicking on Next instead of Install.

If the location is correct, but the update installer still reports the same problem, you may try using the full installer to re-install and then update.
